Pouch construction
A shaped or contoured front can provide room without requiring a loose waistband.
Fabric
Breathable stretch fabrics can move with the body, but very thin fabric may offer little support.
Seams
Central or crossing seams can create pressure points. Flat seams may reduce rubbing.
Support level
Loose boxers offer room but limited control; boxer briefs vary greatly; briefs can support well if the front is adequately shaped.
